This web site is part of a federal computer system used to accomplish federal functions. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) monitors this web site for security purposes to ensure it remains available to all users and to protect information in the system. By accessing this web site, you are expressly consenting to these monitoring activities.

Unauthorized attempts to defeat or circumvent security features, to use the system for other than intended purposes, to deny service to authorized users, to access, obtain, alter, damage, or destroy information, or otherwise to interfere with the system or its operation is prohibited. We collect no personal information about you when you visit a DOE web site, unless otherwise stated and unless you choose to provide this information to us. However, we automatically collect and store the following information in our server logs:

In addition, we use Google Analytics to collect and analyze this information. Google Analytics uses a persistent cookie to track your usage of our site. This is classified as a Tier 2 usage under OMB Memorandum M-10-22. If you wish, you may opt out of Google Analytics by disabling cookies in your browser. If you choose to opt out of Google Analytics tracking, you will still have access to all of the information on this site.

We use the summary statistics to help us make our site more useful to visitors, such as assessing what information is of most and least interest to visitors, and for other purposes, such as determining the site's technical design specifications and identifying system performance or problem areas. This information is not shared with anyone beyond the support staff to this web site, except when required by law enforcement investigation, and is used only as a source of anonymous statistical information.

Comments Sent by E-Mail

You may choose to provide us with personal information, such as in an e-mail message containing your comments or questions. We use this information to improve our service to you or to respond to your request. There are times when your message is forwarded, as e-mail, to other DOE or contractor employees who may be better able to help you. Except for authorized law enforcement investigations, we do not share our e-mail with any other outside organizations.

BSEE and BOEM (the Bureaus) do not consider anonymous comments; please include your name and address as part of your submittal. The Bureaus make all comments, including the names and addresses of respondents, available for public review during regular business hours. Individual respondents may request that the Bureaus withhold their names and/or addresses from the public record; however, the Bureaus cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so. If you wish your name and/or address to be withheld, please choose the "Withhold my personal information" option on the comment form. All submissions from organizations or businesses and from individuals identifying themselves as representatives or officials of organizations or businesses will be made available for public inspection in their entirety regardless of the selected option.

Any information collected may be subject to disclosure, but will be handled in accordance with the requirements of the Privacy Act and the Freedom of Information Act to ensure the greatest protection of personal privacy in the face of any required disclosure.
